Spirited Away on Peyote
I watch kid’s movies. As long as they’re not idiotic or overly simplified, they’re easy to watch and easy to follow for an addled brain and are usually not the fiftieth iteration of the world ending. I’ve been hearing about Spirited Away since it won all those awards a few years ago. I’ve finally seen it… and I dragged myself off the couch to sit here just as I should be going to bed and writing this.
It’s the weirdest movie I’ve ever seen. Methinks large quantities of peyote (or sake, I guess since it’s Japanese) went into making it. I don’t even know what to make of it. That’s really all I have to say. Nothing more intelligent than: Spirited Away is the weirdest movie I’ve ever seen. Ever.

Then I would recommend Princess Mononoke, which I saw because a) I had seen Spirited Away and loved it and b) it said on the cover that Neil Gaiman had written the script.
