Tuesday’s Eve
I just looked at the blog online and I was surprised to see I hadn’t written anything all January. The day before the near-national primaries seems as good a time as any to come back.
They’re saying it’s too close to call and while my state will not be voting tomorrow, I’ll be watching coverage in the early morning before I go to work and watching it again when I get back. These are my feelings on the candidates, just a slug on each:
Hillary Clinton: Her ideas on health care sound the best and she always sounds like she knows what she’s talking about. But she still cannot explain away her vote to invade Iraq. It would probably be best to just apologise for a now-clear mistake.
Barack Obama: He’s very eloquent and a good speaker but his aura of just being the hip new thing is really annoying. I know that’s not necessarily his fault but I’m tired of this guy being lauded as the second coming. He’s only been in the Senate for a few years and hasn’t really *done* anything yet. And I hate Oprah. How dare she tell people who to vote for.
John McCain: He’s old. But he actually seems like he means what he says, even though he’s a Republican. And he clearly has experience and seems to be fair-minded and not an uber conservative, who are the people who have ruined the country the past seven years.
Mitt Romney: I hate this guy. I hate him. You look at him and see a brittle businessman who’s sold his soul for $$$. And he’s a Mormon. I hate Mormons.
