Ticketmaster Mafia On CNN
It’s been a while since I had to deal with Ticketmaster. When I went to see The Killers in New York in April, I bypassed the Spawn of Avarice by joining The Killers’ fanclub and buying the tickets directly from them. But I’ve hated them with every cell I possess before because of their unfair, blatantly greedy practices. I’m convinced their moneymen have sold their souls to the devil of money. How do people like that live with themselves?
Anyway, there’s a story on CNN.com right now about the Bastard and their preposterous convenience charges. A lot of the comments are right on (except for the occasional jerk who posts variations of “If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.”) and I would have read more but they brought up too many all too fresh memories.
I love concerts but I never want to deal with Ticketmaster again. I go to box offices in person if I can. I join fanclubs for the big guns. I’ll even buy from scalpers. At least they don’t lie about who they are. I love how Ticketmaster tries to make themselves sound so pious and we who complain, like a bunch of ignorant, irrational children.
