Stomping his feet and waving his hands like a…well, like a chimp, President Bush demanded that the Republican leadership take one final action as the majority: pass his unconstitutional domestic wiretapping plan. The Republican response: Nah. We’re too busy packing. Coming in January: “Subpoenas! Get’cher red hot subpoenas!”
It’s written in a half-comedic tone because you must laugh. If we weren’t laughing, we’d be crying. But the message is the same. Will someone please take care of this so we who care but just don’t have the time can get some peace? I was in the NICU today fixing a 1 kg baby. I don’t have time to be up to my teeth in politics as well. You don’t want us who fix 1 kg babies to be too worried about Washington, but the way things are, we must.
