PED
It stands for Post European Depression. I’m trying to keep it at bay but circumstances aren’t helping. It’s cold, rainy, and I’ve been expeditiously attacked by a cold bug. I’m coming from golden sun, light breezes, and that blue, blue sea. The bad weather keeps me inside, though, and I’ve managed to process and compress 24 pictures to put on Flickr. They’re untouched other than some straightening. I felt the need to say that. I too couldn’t believe the clarity and blueness of the water, the sky, and the gold in the evening mists. It doesn’t look like it’s been lived on for 3000+ years. In contrast, this puppy of a 200 year-old city looks much older.
A bill from Comcast was waiting for me in the mailbox when I got home. I was furious, as furious as I could be while just after 2 fantastic weeks. I called and I was told it’s been fixed and that my account has been closed… again. The first guy told me the system said I owed money. I know, I’m holding a bill and that’s why I’m calling. How stupid do they really think I am?
Some the pictures turned out well, though. It was worth it lugging around that behemoth of a wide angle lens. Another good surprise waiting for me at home that eases the sinking feeling a bit is the Killers’ new Sam’s Town with their flamboyant energy intact and the new season of Lost. I’d take lovely men and house wine if I could but…
