It’s Happening Again
He’s doing it again. Bill Gates et al stand poised with the knife raised against yet another company’s back. This time it’s the legal Napster and everyone who fell for the PlaysForSure DRM format. Will no one ever learn? This is what Microsoft does. They’re not smart. They’re not creative. They have just happened to be in the right place at the right time unshackled by conscience about saying one thing to a partner and then doing another, destroying that partner and everything they had ever created.
It’s like Aldous Huxley said, “What we have to learn from history is that we never learn from it.” Microsoft isn’t the biggest because it’s the best. It’s just the biggest.
