Go Home, Dutch!
That was the dirtiest game I’ve ever seen (soccer-wise). I’m so glad Portugal hung on to win in spite of bad calls, injuries, and being outsized by the giants from the north. I’ve never seen the Netherlands play but they played the dirtiest, most unsportsmanlike game I’ve ever seen. They didn’t deserve to win it and gladly, narrowly didn’t. I’m shocked someone could get away with so many outright pushes and shoves.
Now Portugal will have to play England without the outstanding Deco and with numerous players carrying yellow cards. Hopefully, Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to play. He’s young, hopefully he’ll be able to play though the injury. Poor kid. I don’t blame him for crying when they had to pull him out.
The next game will be a tough one for me to cheer for, though. England with Becks vs. Portugal. England hasn’t been playing well but has somehow managed to keep winning and they’ll have a clear size advantage over Portugal. I don’t know who to cheer for. It’s starting to get tough.
