Things I Wish I Had

This isn’t just another Christmas list or want list. These are things I wish existed, but as far as I know, they don’t.

1. SLR cases not by the manufacturer. If one of the many shops that made iPod cases would think about the other small electronics that need nice cases that are not necessarily made by the manufacturer, it would be a better world. I use a change purse (without change in it) as my cell phone case. It’s hard to use something that isn’t an SLR case as an SLR case. The best laptop cases I’ve seen are Rebe’s fabric cases and they’re happily sized for Mac. Now if only someone out there, preferably someone with as good a fashion sense as Rebe, would think of putting together an SLR case that didn’t necessarily have to look like this, it would be a better planet.

2. Small pockets on the outside of purses or just inside with just enough space for keys, even in large bags. I hate fishing for keys outside my building.

3. A way to do interapplication work on computers, one that’s a bit easier than Apple Script and more flexible than standard OS things like cut and paste. Quicksilver saved me the other day. It may be the answer… if only I could manage to figure it all out.

4. Batteries that last a really long time and that don’t leak charge when they’ve been disconnected a long time.

5. Wireless electricity… or at least a cordless way of recharging all my electricity-starved stuff.

6. No cap on upstream data transfer to a server. Why do they cap so much and so severely. WHY? I swear I’m not running my computer as a server or something.

7. A pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
