One’s Missing
I just read this and thought, “Who really neeeds this?” For all these so-called tips and encouraging to make yourself into a pain in the ass for nursing homes everywhere, one’s missing. It should be obvious. Why are they discussing leaving Mom or Dad in harm’s way after they brought you up? Why are they encouraging you leave and “fill up their bathtub” with water since old people get dehydrated easily? Did no one think to TAKE THEM WITH YOU!
There was a letter in the paper when the St. Rits’s nursing home story began to circulate that asaid the exact same thing. For all the blaming of the owners, however guilty or innocent, where were these people’s children? You can bet that they’ll crawl out of the woodwork for civil suits and compensation with arms wide open but couldn’t bother to make sure their old parents got out of the city. Too busy. Had other things to do. Thought they’d be safe.
As a girl at work said, her retirement plan is a loaded gun. Don’t get old. No one’s going to be there to keep you from drowning, just to artificially extend your life.
