Speak English!
I almost burst out laughing. Maybe I would have if I hadn’t been tempted to weep. During surgery, a popular, prolific surgeon is trying to teach his medical students when he says something is “adhissed”. I do a second take. He says it again, meaning he thought it was right in the first place. “Adhissed.” I don’t even know if that’s spelt right, but then it doesn’t matter because it isn’t a real word. The word he mean was “adhered” as is something being stuck to something else. Something that’s adhered is called an “adhesion”. There’s no such thing as an adhesion being “adhissed”. I realize docs don’t really speak English the rest of the world can understand, but that isn’t even one of the jargon words. It’s in common use.
Speak English. Please.
