Press Conference
They cut it off. I was watching W’s first press conference of his second term on Fox and… they cut it off when the hour was ending and they had incredibly banal TV shows to run. I was shocked. One second, W’s struggling to string a sentence together, and the next there’s a guy on TV announcing “The Simple Life” was coming up and if you needed to keep watching the press conference, you’d have to switch to cable. Is it just me, or is a Q & A with the Chief Executive (no matter how much you dislike him) more important than some stupid TV show that’s already been taped anyway?
Granted, not everyone’s going to want to watch, but I don’t care. The press conference should be more important to you and if it isn’t, then you’re an idiot and people like you call into question the very basis of democracy. A dictatorship is better if the people it rules over really care so little about the government. Maybe that’s what it’s coming to. People get what they deserve.
It blows my mind that they cut it off. And no one will say a word about it tomorrow. This apathy is getting to be absolutely appalling.
