I Take Issue
I had to post this today as by this time tomorrow I may be in a freezer burnt stage of grief, catatonia. I may not be able to move or speak or clean my apartment before my mother comes to visit and tries to do it for me. I take issue with the following things:
1. Physicians are on the short list of exempt professions from jury duty. Why them and not us who actually do more of the hands on work around the hospital and are more tied to it than they are? I wrote that on the questionnaire I mailed back to the United States Court today. I fail to see why physicians are exempt by profession alone and nurses aren’t. Does that somehow imply our time is less valuable at work, that we are somehow more expendable than the white coats? That’s wrong. I take issue with that. They can’t throw me in jail for writing that. It’s a valid point and I don’t need to cry out “First Amendment!” to defend it. People who instantly cry first amendment rights are those on the fringe of reason anyway. It’s a legitimate point and I’d want someone to answer it for me. No disrespect to physicians meant. I’m just tired of being brushed aside.
2.Why is Comcast charging me for services not yet rendered? Why are they charging me for next month’s cable bill? What if I pick up the phone and cancel right now? Is that why they charge ahead, to deter their overcharged clientele from cancelling? No one else charges you for something you haven’t yet received. I got my Verizon bill and they charged me for the past month, the long distance minutes I used. When I go to the supermarket, they don’t charge me for the food I may buy for the next week. Why does Comcast get away with that? WHY?
More later. There are always hosts of things bothering me. I can work myself into a fury in 9.4 nanoseconds.
